Schatten M-02 Series Mandolin Pickups gor Arched Top Mandolins Choosing a pickup for an arched top mando? The M-02 Series will give you a clean, strong and wonderfully accurate sound. All of the M-02 pickups utilize the same high performance full length oversize piezo element built into a high quality adjustable ebony bridge and deliver great response and good tonal balance. - Clarity - Superior volume and balance from string to string. - Cleaner, crisper sound reproduction than ever before. This pickup has been designed to operate properly and sound terrific without the use of a preamp when plugged into any 'normal' amp (guitar amp, bass amp, etc.). If you require the added ability to be able to plug directly into a P.A. or mixer then you may wish to add one of Schatten's Preamp/DI units to your pickup system. Schatten has created a new and more secure method of mounting a jack assembly to a mandolin. Previous jack assemblies that clamped to the side of a mandolin had the tendency to come loose fairly easily. The new MVC series of jack assemblies solves that by mounting from the tailpiece. The jack assembly does not mount to the top. This method of mounting is totally non-invasive and will not harm your mandolin. An exploded view of the jack mounting illustrates how the jack assembly attaches to the underside of the the tailpiece with 3M VHB foam tape. The New MVC series of jack assemblies mounts very securely to the underside of any 'normal' mandolin tailpiece. Installation is quick and easy with the jack assembly attaching to the tailpiece with 3M VHB tape. The underside of the jack assembly has a protective felt backing so as not to scratch the face of the instrument. Each pickup is hand built and tested by Schatten to ensure good sound. As well, each pickup is warranted for a period of two years from date of purchase to the original purchaser.
