Electrostatic Transducer for the Double Bass
The Original STAT-B

Stephan Schertler’s original bridge-mounted STAT-B electrostatic dual sensor system included two sensors that effectively reproduced
the complex tone of the double bass and worked with any bass amplifier.
The dual system was replaced in the 90's by a single electrostatic sensor system for simplicity and cost reasons. The original dual electrostatic sensor system has been re-introduced as the STAT B Vintage and is again available. The STAT-B-VINTAGE version includes two transducers, providing a greater sense of space and richness of sound. To support the STAT B and other Schertler pickups, noteably the STAT and Basik series, Stephan Schertler has designed and introduced two new preamps, the multifeatured Yellow Single and Yellow Blender, replacing the PRE-A series. The STAT-B is remarkable for its high resistance to feedback, making it an ideal system for rock, jazz or fusion performances with high levels of amplification. |
